Rail Service

Paducah and Louisville Railway
The Paducah and Louisville Railway (PAL) is on site at PRP and connects with 5 Class I railroads at three locations:

  • In Paducah, Paducah and Louisville Railway connects with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) and the Canadian National (CN) railroads.
  • In Madisonville, Paducah and Louisville Railway connects with CSX Transportation (CSXT).
  • In Louisville, Paducah and Louisville Railway connects with the CP Rail System (CPRS), CSX Transportation (CSXT), and Norfolk Southern Corporation (NS).

The Paducah and Louisville Railway currently operates over 270 route miles of track in the western half of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Its 223-mile main line runs between Paducah and Louisville. As a short line railroad, Paducah and Louisville Railway can negotiate highly competitive rates with national carriers.

The Paducah and Louisville Railway serves several rail-barge-rail transfer facilities on the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers and offers service to the local industrial parks. The Paducah and Louisville Railway currently handles approximately 200,000 cars annually, originating or terminating 99% of these loads at industries located along its rail line.

Canadian National Railroad
The Canadian National Railroad connects with all Class I rail lines. The Canadian National Railroad is the only railroad which crosses the US both east-west and north-south connecting Canada, Mexico and the United States. The Canadian National Railroad serves ports on the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf of Mexico allowing for easy transportation of goods such as petroleum, chemicals, grains and fertilizers, coal and other goods from Paducah to major U.S. and international destinations.
