ENDANGERED SPECIES: COMPLETE
(to be complete by 2010)
Tract 2 (South Section) -
The study that was conducted in the 2003 did not include Tract 2 (South Section). The updated study included both Tract 1 & Tract 2.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has reviewed the project in July, 2009 and their records indicate that a listed endangered species may exist on the property. That species being the Indiana Bat. Their recommendations include identifying and avoiding any caves, rock shelters and/or abandoned underground mines. No known such habitats existing within the developable areas of the property. A second recommendation includes no deforestation between the dates of October 15 and March 31. If the project schedule requires clearing of any forest/trees during the period of April 1 to October 14 then they recommend a survey of the project area to determine if the Indiana Bat exists within the property or enter into a Conservation Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Service.
There are portions of the park that are in the floodplain & floodway of Mayfield Creek that will not be in the constructed industrial areas. These areas may be suitable for habitat mitigation in conjunction with an MOA.
