ENDANGERED SPECIES: COMPLETED
Tract 1 (North Section) -
Based on the findings in the 2003 report an updated study should be conducted if construction in the park has not begun in two years.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has reviewed the project in July, 2009 and their records indicate that a listed endangered species may exist on the property. That species being the Indiana Bat. Their recommendations include identifying and avoiding any caves, rock shelters and/or abandoned underground mines. No known such habitats existing within the developable areas of the property. A second recommendation includes no deforestation between the dates of October 15 and March 31. If the project schedule requires clearing of any forest/trees during the period of April 1 to October 14 then they recommend a survey of the project area to determine if the Indiana Bat exists within the property or enter into a Conservation Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Service.
There are portions of the park that are in the floodplain & floodway of Mayfield Creek
that will not be in the constructed industrial areas. These areas may be suitable for habitat
mitigation in conjunction with an MOA.
